Julie is a Property Lawyer covering areas such as Commercial Property and Property Finance. After completing her Legal Practice Course at the University of Central Lancashire, Julie qualified as a lawyer in 2007. Among some of the qualifications Julie has achieved is a Masters in Law, MSc in Criminal Justice Studies and BSc (Hons) in Marketing. Additional to her academic accomplishments, she was also a recommended lawyer in the 2015 Legal 500 for Social Housing Finance.
Julie has now gained over 10 years of experience including working for a top law firm in the UK, Addleshaw Goddard LLP. Some of her prominent clients included organisations such as Santander, HSBC and Travelodge Hotels.
In her spare time Julie enjoys keeping active by running, cycling and swimming. She is also a keen sports fan from attending Headingley to watch Leeds Rhinos to watching the 20/20 cricket matches.
Julie joined My Business Counsel in 2017.
Commercial Property – negotiating leases, agreements for lease, lease renewals, surrenders, deeds of variation, licences to assign, alter and underlet. All aspects of estate management, due diligence reporting to support corporate transactions.
Property Finance – acted for funders in the charging of properties in social housing and real estate finance transactions.
Social Housing and Regeneration –large scale projects- stock transfers of housing, residential property acquisitions and sales, shared ownership sales, acting for housing associations as borrowers in property security work with loan facilities ranging from £10 million to £290 million)
o Acting for the funder, conducting title investigation and due diligence on a portfolio of commercial and student properties as security for loan facilities to a student housing provider.
o Acting for multiple lenders on the property security in the £500,000,000 amalgamation and refinancing of EMH Housing and Regeneration Limited following the merger of 4 borrower entities.
o Advising the funder on the charging of industrial units as security for a £20 million facility agreement to a consortium of land investors.
o Representing funders in respect of renewable energy solar projects.
o Acting for M&G Investments to secure Sentinel Housing Association with a £75 million bond (including a range of investors, of which £15 million was raised in the US).
o 3 month part time secondment to The Royal Bank of Scotland PLC based in London. Real Estate advice on disposals for the bank as part of the Capital Resolution Team.
