Jonny is an experienced Commercial Associate Real Estate solicitor working in Tel Aviv and London, and acting for both Israeli and UK clients covering all areas of UK real estate.

 

 

 

Jonny has a strong landlord and tenant practice in the retail, commercial and office sectors acting for a range of investor and developer clients. Highlights include:

 

    • Acting on a large volume of retail and office lettings opposite high profile tenants such as Waterstones, Waitrose, Marks and Spencer plc, Boots UK and GAIL’s Bakery and covers all areas of landlord and tenant law, including negotiation of conditional agreements for lease, leases of various length and complexity, ancillary licences and rent deposit deeds.

 

    • Acting for office tenants on the grant of leases with an annual rent of over £3.5 million.

 

    • Acting for retail tenants on multiple transactions opposite developers and negotiated conditional agreements for lease, leases and ancillary documents.

 

    • Acting on the disposal of several properties to residential developers and negotiating complex overage provisions.

 

    • Acting for a private investor/developer on a joint venture with a real estate fund on the redevelopment of an out-of-town retail site. This included advising on the funding agreement and negotiating the associated lettings in order to trigger profit payments.

 

    • Acting on the acquisition of a property portfolio of six office parks for a private equity fund. Experience included full due diligence and the preparation of comprehensive title and lease reports. Subsequently acted on the development and re-gears of the properties and their subsequent disposals to a variety of purchasers; including investors, funds and residential developers.

 

    • Acting on the disposal of a Central London hotel and ancillary commercial units for over £70 million.

 

    • Acting on the acquisition for a global property investment vehicle of a UK property portfolio of 14 properties for £130 million. This included the preparation of certificates of title.

 

    • Acting on real estate due diligence for a number of investors and lenders in connection with investment finance in the retail and office space.

 

    • Project manager on several due diligence projects and high volume transactions involving the management of a team of trainees and junior lawyers based in different offices and departments.
