The defamatory Dyson ad that criticised their smaller rival, Gtech, has now been banned by Watchdog

Gtech v Dyson

 

Dyson have been found guilty of making misleading claims about their smaller rivals, Gtech. Dyson launched an advertising campaign designed to belittle their competitors. By producing a newspaper article and YouTube video, this campaign shows the Gtech Air Ram to be inferior to the Dyson C59 . This stimulated complaints from Gtech to the ASA (Advertising Standards Agency) regarding the tests that Dyson carried out in their adverts. These were said to be deceptive and failed to conform to standards set out by the International Electrotechnical Commission.
